Mount Royal Conservatory

Students' Union

Continuing the partnership with Mount Royal University’s Conservatory, Land's End Ensemble is thrilled to present the second concert of their residency featuring students of their program!

After their successful concert last season, Land's End brings you more exciting works that push the boundaries of today’s performance practices and sonic experiences. Featured works include Steve Reich’s classic work Clapping Music, Frank Ticheli’s minimalist-inspired In C Dorian, and Mary Kouyoumdjian’s Moerae inspired by the Greek mythology of the three fates. Also featured is the world premiere of a new trio by Michael van der Sloot, and new work for trio and spatialized instruments by Juno Award-winner Allan Gordon Bell. This all culminates to the grand finale: Louis Andriessen’s colossal (and politically-influenced) work Workers Union, written for "any loud sounding group of instruments" and featuring all performers on stage!
