Calgary’s Juno-nominated professional chamber choir Luminous Voices is back on stage to present a full four-concert season.
"The Pandemic has been incredibly difficult for performing arts organizations,” says Luminous Voices’ Artistic Director Timothy Shantz. “I am very proud of the artistic and organizational work that we have done over the past 20 months. Our Board of Directors, staff and singers have been willing partners in many creative projects. It will be a dream come true for us to come together again and make beautiful music on the Bella Stage! Beginning our season with the music of our long-time friend and artistic partner, Zachary Wadsworth combined with one of the most beautiful, powerful and consoling Requiem's in Brahms's "Ein Deutsches Requiem" seems like the perfect launch for our 21-22 season. It will be one to remember, with incredible guest artists, an unaccompanied New Year's Eve program of choral gems, a substantial new work by composer Andrew Balfour and a performance of Peter Togni's "Lamentations" paired with Allegri's "Miserere Mei". Our season launch cannot come soon enough."
The season opener concert, Brahms & Wadsworth, will take place on Sunday, November 14 at 3 p.m. at the Bella Concert Hall, Taylor Centre for the Performing Arts (4825 Mount Royal Gate SW, Calgary). Tickets and subscriptions are available through MRU ticket office at tickets.mru.ca.
